Our client is a leading Real Estate Developer specialising in high-end, mixed-use and residential projects.
The Role
The Design Management Director will be responsible for leading and
Managing the design team to ensure the development of innovative and effective designs that meet project requirements and are aligned with the company’s strategy and new investment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design management process for large-scale mixed-use developments, from concept through to delivery.
- Ensure all designs comply with engineering, quality, safety, and sustainability standards
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with design offices, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors throughout all project phases.
- Review and manage all technical documentation, drawings, and design submittals to meet project and regulatory requirements
- Provide timely solutions to design issues, supporting smooth execution and on-site progress.
- Oversee regulatory approvals, maintain document control systems, and ensure accurate project reporting.
- Evaluate variation claims, budgets, and conduct value engineering to optimize design and cost efficiency.
- Lead and mentor the internal design team, identify training needs, and implement performance improvement strategies.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience with specifically within a real estate developer or a LDC.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Proven experience successfully delivering large-scale projects in the GCC region. (mixed-use, hospitality, residential).
- Experience in dealing with design offices, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of engineering standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements across the GCC.
- PMP or similar project management certification is an advantage.
